I finally got round to finishing my dark elf team the Naggaroth Side Skates. I am quite please with how they turned out and took them to the Waterbowl 2013 tournament in February.
The running game coupled with screening fitted my play style and I did quite well.
GW kills specialist games because they do not sell enough but this nice team you made here gets credited to looks like 40K Dark Eldar at like 100 dollars retail with 2 Leliths (2*20), 4 Mandrakes (4/5*33), and a Bunch of Warriors (35).
ReplyDeleteNice work on them.
Yes they are 40k, I think GW should go the way of removable weapons and items then release articles on modifying them to blood bowl. Two communities with 1 stone and they can still make space marines as much as they like.
DeleteI've never really got the hang of Dark Elves - no idea why as I love the idea of their playstyle. I think I try to use the runners in a Rugby offload style too much and without usual Elf super catchers I get bogged down in bashing too easily.
ReplyDeleteLovely look the the team, too, very nice scheme and paintjob!
Dark Elves are generally played Bashy verses Ag opponents and Ag verses Bashy. At low team values they suffer from expensive players which no ball handling skills and often too few rerolls selected. At higher team values the lack of S skill access means that they can never be truly bashy.
DeleteI tend not to play very bashy, more screening and not giving the opponent a clue to what they are going to do.
